Mahoosuc Guide Service

Mahoosuc HuskiesWith 40 years guiding experience from Maine and eastern Canada to Alaska and the Yukon you will be in safe hands with Mahoosuc Guide Service. Owners Polly Mahoney and Kevin Slater are professional year round full time Master Maine guides. Now in their 26th year of business Mahoosuc offers guided canoe and fishing trips spring, summer and fall. In the winter when the canoe routes are frozen we offer dogsledding trips.
Canoe trips are offered on all of Maine’s wilderness rivers such as the Allagash, East and West Branch of the Penobscot, St John and some

other remote areas in Maine such as Grand Lake Stream area and Umbagog National Wildlife Refuge area. All levels of experience are welcome on these trips as instruction is provided in paddling and poling techniques. Meals on canoe trips are prepared over an open fire with all natural or organic ingredients. Baked desserts are a specialty with a reflector or Dutch oven. Wildlife viewing and natural history of Maine’s North Woods are a part of every canoe trip.
In the winter our well trained friendly Yukon huskies make it easy for beginners to learn how to “mush.” We offer a wide range of dogsledding options from day trips to 10 day trips in the far north with Native Cree and Inuit guides. Join us for a once in a life time northern adventure.
