Inn-to-Inn Snowmobiling

Explore the western mountains of Maine on this Inn-to-Inn snowmobile tour that features outstanding scenery and a unique combination of lodging.

Starting and finishing at Northern Outdoors Lodge in The Forks, your tour will lead you through 200 miles of varied terrain as you traverse a network of trails from the Kennebec Valley towards the picture postcard town of Kingfield, the gateway to Carrabassett Valley and the Bigelow Range. You will overnight at the Historic Herbert Grand Hotel and eat locally at Longfellows Restaurant. After a continental breakfast you will head north towards the mountains as you make the loop back to The Forks. Expect some spectacular scenery on the return ride including high mountain views of Sugarloaf Mountian, the Bigelow Range and Grand Falls on the Dead River before heading back to Northern Outdoors lodge, and a handcrafted beer by fire.
 

This package is designed for snowmobilers with their own machines. Snowmobiles can also be rented from Northern Outdoors at an additional cost. The package is designed as a self-guided tour with written route instructions, but you can also hire a professional guide to lead the trip if you would prefer.  

The base package can also be extended by adding an extra night at The Herbert to explore the multitude of ITS trails in the Carrabassett, Rangeley, Stratton, Eustis area.
 

Participants should be in reasonable physical condition and should expect to ride for about 5-hours on day one and up to about 8.5 hours on day two.
 

Pricing (based on double occupancy)

• Peak Season: Fridays & Saturdays, and Feb 13 - 24th, 2011: $220 per person, $440 total (double occupancy)
• Value Season: Sundays-Thursdays, excluding 2/13/11-2/24/11 :$189 per person, $378 total (double occupancy)
• Not included: taxes or gratuities.
   

Optional Snowmobile Rental - SkiDoo 550 GTX Snowmobiles, with gas and oil:

• Sled rentals come with helmet. mitts, and riding suit (if needed)
• Single machine: $190 per day Sun-Fri, $205 per day Saturday
• Double machine: $205 per day Sun-Fri, $220 per day Saturday
